Trading Guide

Everything You Need to Understand Trading

Six structured learning tracks. Read them in order if you are new, or jump straight to the topic you need.

Beginner Trading Guide

Start here. Learn what financial markets are, the difference between shares, forex, indices and crypto, how orders are executed, what spread and leverage mean, and why demo practice matters before real capital.

BeginnerLearn More

Technical Analysis

Understand how price data is structured: trend direction, market structure, higher highs and lower lows, momentum, volatility and timeframes. Learn why the same chart looks different on M5 and H4.

IntermediateLearn More

Candlestick Patterns

Each candle tells a short story about buyers and sellers. Study engulfing patterns, dojis, pin bars, inside bars and morning/evening stars — and learn why context matters more than the pattern itself.

BeginnerLearn More

Support & Resistance

Learn to identify zones where price has previously reacted, how to draw levels without cluttering your chart, and how to treat breaks versus retests. Levels are areas, not exact lines.

Indicators

Moving averages, RSI, MACD, ATR, Bollinger Bands and volume. Understand what each indicator actually measures, how it lags price, and why stacking ten indicators rarely improves a decision.

Beginner Roadmap

Your First Five Steps

A simple, ordered path for anyone starting from zero. Take your time — rushing this stage is expensive later.

01

Learn Trading Basics

Understand markets, instruments, order types, spread, leverage and margin. Learn the vocabulary before you learn the charts.

02

Understand Charts

Get comfortable reading candlestick charts across timeframes. Identify trend direction, ranges and the structure of price movement.

03

Learn Technical Analysis

Study support and resistance, patterns, indicators and momentum so you can form a structured, repeatable market view.

04

Practice With Demo Data

Apply what you have learned using demo charts and a journal. Track decisions, not profits, and review your reasoning honestly.

05

Develop Risk Management

Define position sizing rules, maximum risk per trade, daily limits and a review routine. This is the step most beginners skip.

Strategy Library

Trading Strategies Explained

Eight widely studied approaches, described honestly — including their limitations. All strategies are educational frameworks, not recommendations.

Trend Following

Beginner

Trading in the direction of the dominant trend using higher highs and higher lows (or the inverse). Entries are often taken on pullbacks rather than breakouts.

Breakout Strategy

Intermediate

Looking for price to leave a defined range or consolidation zone with momentum. False breakouts are common, so confirmation and risk control matter.

Support & Resistance

Beginner

Using historical reaction zones as decision areas. Traders watch for rejection, acceptance or retests around these levels rather than treating them as exact prices.

Moving Average Strategy

Beginner

Using one or more moving averages to define trend bias and dynamic support. Crossovers are lagging signals and should be combined with structure.

RSI Strategy

Intermediate

Reading momentum through the Relative Strength Index. Overbought and oversold readings can persist in strong trends, so context is essential.

No Strategy Wins Every Time

Every approach listed here produces losing trades. A strategy is only useful when combined with position sizing, risk limits and honest record-keeping. Nothing on this page guarantees profitability.

Strategies are educational frameworks

QuoteX Hub does not provide personalised trading recommendations. Market conditions change, and any strategy described here can produce losses. Always test ideas in a demo environment and never risk money you cannot afford to lose.

Signals Interface

How Trading Signals Are Structured

A demonstration of how a signal layout is typically presented. All entries below are sample data for illustration only.

Sample Signals — Illustrative Only
Signals are educational and informational only.

They are not guaranteed predictions or financial advice. No signal provider can guarantee outcomes, and any claim of "100% accuracy" or guaranteed profit is misleading. Always apply your own analysis and risk management.

Entry Zone

A price area rather than a single tick. Chasing outside the zone usually worsens the risk-to-reward of the idea.

Signal Strength

A subjective confidence label based on confluence. It is not a probability and does not predict the outcome of any trade.

Risk Level

An indication of volatility and typical stop distance — not a recommendation of how much capital to commit.

Market Analysis

Market Dashboard

A dashboard-style overview of popular instruments with trend context and mini charts.

Demo Data — Not Live Prices
Real-time market data is not connected

Every price, percentage and chart on this page is illustrative demo data generated for layout and educational purposes. Do not use these figures for trading decisions.

How to Read This Dashboard

Start with the trend label to establish directional bias, then check the percentage movement to judge whether the move is extended or fresh. The mini chart shows the shape of recent price action — not a forecast.

Analysis Is Not a Prediction

Market analysis describes what has happened and what could happen under certain conditions. It cannot remove uncertainty. Two traders can analyse the same chart and reach different conclusions — both may be reasonable.

Tool Disclaimer

These calculators are educational aids. They use the formulas you enter and produce mathematical estimates only. They do not account for spread, commission, slippage, swap fees or currency conversion, and they do not predict outcomes.

Your broker's contract specifications will always take priority over any figure produced here.

Trading Journal

Record the Decision, Not Just the Result

Entries are saved locally in your own browser using localStorage. Nothing is sent to any server.

DateAssetTypeEntryExitP/LRiskStrategyNotes

Journal data stays in this browser only. Clearing your browser data will remove it.

Risk Management

Protect Your Capital Before You Chase Returns

Most trading accounts are not destroyed by a single bad idea — they are destroyed by poor sizing and repeated rule-breaking.

Non-Negotiable Principles

  • Never risk more than you can afford to lose. Trading capital should be money whose loss would not affect your essential life expenses.
  • Use appropriate position sizing. Decide risk per trade before entry, and let the stop distance determine the size — not the other way around.
  • Understand leverage. Leverage magnifies both gains and losses. It increases exposure; it does not increase the quality of an idea.
  • Set predefined risk limits. A maximum risk per trade, per day and per week keeps one bad session from becoming a bad month.
  • Maintain a trading journal. Written records expose patterns you cannot see in real time.
  • Avoid emotional trading. Revenge trading, FOMO entries and doubling down after losses are the most expensive habits in trading.
  • Never assume past performance guarantees future results. Historical outcomes describe what happened, not what will happen.

Risk Meter

An illustration of how a risk profile can be visualised. Your own profile depends on experience, capital and tolerance.

ConservativeBalancedAggressive
Moderate
Illustrative risk profile — not a personal assessment

The 1% Rule

Many traders cap risk per trade at a small percentage of capital. Ten consecutive losses at 1% still leaves the majority of the account intact — at 10% per trade, ten losses is catastrophic.

Drawdown Mathematics

A 50% loss requires a 100% gain to return to breakeven. This asymmetry is the single strongest argument for protecting capital aggressively.

Process Over Outcome

A profitable trade taken without a plan is a bad habit that happens to pay once. Judge your execution against your rules, not only against the result.

You can lose money trading

Trading and investing involve significant risk. Leverage can amplify losses rapidly. Nothing on this page is financial advice, and no risk-management technique eliminates the possibility of loss.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers You Can Actually Rely On

Straight answers about QuoteX Hub, trading signals, education and risk.

QuoteX Hub is an independent trading education and market-analysis platform. It provides learning guides, strategy explanations, market insights, trading tools, risk-management resources and beginner-friendly tutorials. It is not a broker and does not execute trades on your behalf.
No. Unless explicitly stated and verified, QuoteX Hub is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or operated by Quotex or any other broker. Any similarity in naming is coincidental. QuoteX Hub is an independent educational resource and is not a broker, investment adviser or financial institution.
Online trading is the buying and selling of financial instruments — such as currencies, indices, commodities, shares or cryptocurrencies — through an electronic platform. Prices move based on supply and demand, and participants attempt to profit from those movements. Trading involves risk, and losses are possible.
A signal is a suggestion about a potential trade, usually containing an asset, direction, timeframe and sometimes an entry zone or stop level. Signals are typically generated from technical analysis, indicators or a defined strategy. They are opinions, not facts — and different analysts can produce different signals on the same instrument at the same time.
No. No signal, strategy or analysis can guarantee an outcome. Claims of "100% accuracy", "guaranteed profit" or "no-loss signals" are misleading and should be treated with extreme caution. Signals on QuoteX Hub are educational and informational only and are not financial advice.
Start with fundamentals: how markets work, order types, spread, leverage and margin. Then learn to read charts and basic technical analysis. Practise using demo data, keep a journal, and only consider live trading once you have a written process and strict risk rules. The five-step roadmap on our Trading Guide page follows this order.
Risk management is the set of rules that controls how much capital you expose to the market. It includes position sizing, maximum risk per trade, daily loss limits, stop-loss placement and journaling. Good risk management does not make you profitable — it keeps you in the market long enough to develop skill.
No. There is no such thing as guaranteed profit in trading or investing. Every position carries the risk of loss, and leverage can increase that risk substantially. Anyone promising guaranteed returns is either misinformed or attempting to mislead you. Treat your capital accordingly.

Risk Disclosure

Please read this carefully before acting on any information on this website.

Trading Risk Warning

Trading and investing in financial instruments — including foreign exchange, contracts for difference, indices, commodities, shares and cryptocurrencies — carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all individuals. You could lose some or all of your invested capital. Never trade with money you cannot afford to lose.

Leverage

Leverage allows you to control a position larger than your deposited capital. While this can amplify gains, it equally amplifies losses and can result in losses exceeding your initial deposit with some products. Understand the margin requirements and liquidation rules of any product before using it.

Volatility and Liquidity

Market prices can move rapidly and unpredictably, particularly around economic announcements, geopolitical events and outside normal market hours. Spreads may widen, slippage may occur, and positions may not be fillable at the price you intended.

No Guarantee of Profit

No strategy, indicator, signal, analysis or educational resource can guarantee profit. Any statement suggesting otherwise should be treated as misleading. Historical performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.

Educational Content

Content published by QuoteX Hub is general in nature and does not consider your financial situation, objectives, experience or risk tolerance. It is not a recommendation to buy or sell any instrument.

Signals

Signal examples published on this website are illustrative and educational. They are not predictions, guarantees or financial advice. You are solely responsible for your own trading decisions.

Independent Decision-Making

Before trading, consider seeking advice from an independent, appropriately licensed financial adviser in your jurisdiction. Ensure you fully understand the risks involved and the specific terms of any product you trade.

Regulatory Notice

QuoteX Hub is not a regulated broker or financial adviser. Laws relating to trading and investing differ between countries. It is your responsibility to ensure that any trading activity you undertake complies with the regulations applicable in your jurisdiction.
